Stunning i took a few many years ago including a few in Infra red [link] I think i must have been stood on the exact same piece of grass another IR too [link]
I now have a converted Sigma SD10 (simply remove the IR/dust cover..easy to do) and then put an IR filter on the front ..you cant see through the lens any more so i use guess work and an old direct viewfinder a lot of my IR work esp from up in the Orkneys and Scotland were done with long exposures on a tripod with an old Olympus C4000z
I'm using a Canon 450D, which I think has an infra-red filter built in, because when I tried a few long exposures with an R72 filter, I got absolutely nothing!
A simple check can be made to see if your camera is capable of infrared photography. All you need is the infrared remote from your TV and aim it at the lens and push a button. If you see the LED emitter as a point of light on you preview screen..
Canon would not be my choice for IR as a lot of Canon lenses have hot spots in IR
another IR too [link]
